The birds

augmented reality, video art (2021)

The Birds is an augmented reality piece that shifts the optical illusion of Aki Nurosi’s drawing into the kinetic plane. The line comes alive, the strokes drift, and space slips into a dreamlike and unstable dimension. The work engages in dialogue with Alfred Hitchcock’s renowned film The Birds (1963), evoking its unsettling atmosphere through a hybrid visual language in which the static image is reanimated on the viewer’s device.
