Cryptograms: A Liquid Dream
Art project 2007 - series of drawings, video art, publication
Cryptograms: A Liquid Dream is an artistic project composed of a series of large-scale drawings and an audiovisual piece.
In this project, bodies become ghostly beings—immaterial, almost transparent. It is a representation akin to the rusalka or samodiva, magical creatures from Bulgarian folklore that emerge through the work, intertwining inherited traditions with natural dreams. An oneiric atmosphere unfolds, a dream that gathers sensory experience and projects personal phantoms long hidden.
The floating figures that have surfaced almost of their own accord appear as materializations of the fantastic, as if escaping from reality to seek refuge in a dream. They emerge from the depths of memory to draw and externalize a deeply personal universe. These figures seem exiled from reality—ephemeral beings, evoked by memory and invaded by nostalgia, like a melancholic reverie that sketches out recollections.
The artistic project was developed under the supervision of Prof. Antonio Rabazas as a Master’s Final Project (TFM) within the Master’s Degree in Art, Creation and Research program at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Complutense University of Madrid.
